Media Policies
General Information
- The press centre is open to media representatives only.
- Press badges will be distributed at the registration area. Only journalists who present their press credentials on site will receive a press badge.
- The press badge must be worn to gain access to all UEGW sessions and to the exhibition.
- Badges are not transfareable.
- Registration is limited to a maximum of three representatives per media outlet.
- Financial analysts, sales, advertising, marketing and public relations personnel may not register as media.
- Videotaping, sound recording and picture taking is allowed in the official press conferences and common areas of the congress centre, in the exhibition halls only with prior permission, in education or scientific sessions it is strictly prohibited.
- The use of the UEGF and UEGW logo is only allowed with prior written permission of the UEGF. It can be requested from the UEGF Secretariat or the PR agency impressum.
- Patients’ organisations are invited to send one representative to attend the press conferences, please contact the PR agency impressum.
- UEGW does not share media lists

- All materials in written or illustrated form presented in the scientific programme are the intellectual property of the authors and all rights reside with them. Recording without proper authorisation by the holder of rights must be considered a violation of copyrights and will be prevented by the organizers of the congress.
showUEGW Abstract Embargo Policy
- Accepted abstracts are published in a supplement of GUT and ENDOSCOPY at the congress (‘Abstract book’).
- Accepted abstracts are made available on the congress website approximately 3 weeks prior to the congress.
- Information contained in abstracts may not be released until 00:01 hour of the opening day of the congress.
- Academic institutions and companies, whose value may be influenced by information contained in an abstract, may issue a press release to coincide with the availability of the abstract on the congress website. However, UEGF requires that information going beyond that contained in the abstract, such as discussion of the abstract, presentation of data or other details that will be presented, is under embargo as outlined above. Violation of the embargo may result in the abstract being withdrawn from the congress.
showExhibitors' Information
- Company representatives are not permitted in the press centre.
- With prior permission from UEGF PR agency impressum, exhibitors are allowed to display prepared press material in the press centre. Please contact impressum.
- The use of the UEGF and/or UEGW logo on exhibitors press material is prohibited.
- Press conferences by exhibitors may neither be held before the first UEGW press conference nor at the same time as the official press conferences. Events with more than 8 participants need the prior approval of the congress organiser.
