The CCIB was inaugurated in November 2004. It is located in the north-west of Barcelona, in the so-called Diagonal Mar area, close to the sea.
The CCIB consists of two separate buildings, the Forum Building Auditorium and the Convention Centre, which are linked by an underground walkway.
The Convention Centre was designed by the prestigious Spanish architect, José Luis Mateo. The Forum Building with its unique triangular design has become one of Barcelona's landmarks.
